Club History

The closure of Swiss Cottage Sports Centre in 2002 for re-development was a major blow and training was transfered to Kentish Town Baths, where the club has been running lessons for many years. Despite such a crucial loss and initial concern that membership might drop as a result, the club has not only survived but is now actually stronger in depth than before, thanks largely to our strong coaching team.

Hundreds of children are still trying out for the competitive squads every year led by Mark Allen at Kentish Town and Calvin Biss at Highgate. Those who make the grade are progressing well to the club’s Top Squad, where Dave continues to coach swimmers to National Level.

The surrounding support of office staff, loyal members and their parents, especially those recently becoming involved as officials, is also an important factor in the continuing success of Camden Swiss Cottage SC.
