This month is a busy month for our National qualifiers
with the first of the National competitions, the ASA British Nationals already taken place in Liverpool.

The National BAGCAT Championships for boys aged 11-14 years and girls aged 11-13 years will run from the 24th-27th July and the National Youth Championships for boys aged 15- 18 years and girls aged 14-17 years will be held from 29th July- 2nd August. Both of these events will be in Sheffield (50m).
The season of 2007-2008 has been the most successful in the history of Camden Swiss Cottage with a total of 14 National qualifiers ages ranging from 11-30 years, competing in a total of 48 events.
This years National competitions are a chance for swimmers Alex Peake (12 years), Joel Sands (15 years), Kelly Hookway (11 years), Alex Burgess (13 years), Edward Graham (14 years) and Devon Robins (15 years) to make their national debuts.
Whilst these swimmers will have their first taste of National competition, the more experienced Harry Needs (16 years) will be competing at his 5th Nationals, Laura Hobbs (20 years) in her 6th Nationals and Edward Walsh (18 years) in his 4th Nationals.
Other swimmers with previous National experience are the impressive Kyla Streenhart (30 years) who won 3 gold’s in her speciality breastroke events at the World Masters Championships in Perth earlier this year, Felix Samuels (15 years) having recently broken the 14 years National Age Group Record for 50m Freestyle (24.82), Alex Mackay (16 years) who made his international debut representing Great Britain in the French Open Water Cup in June, and Bogac Ayhan (14 years) and Ensger Kotterink (14 years) who have qualified for 5 and 6 events respectively.
Director of Swimming David Hobbs says ‘We are delighted with our qualifiers this year that demonstrates the strength in our programme. We have qualifiers in sprint events through to distance events on all strokes demonstrating the depth in our programme. With 6 new qualifiers and some of our more experienced swimmers being highly ranked shows the environment that we have been able to create where everyone is striving for success.’
