26 swimmers from CSCSC masters took part the Middlesex County Meet on 1st June.
The team managed 3rd in the women’s team, the mens team and 3rd overall.
To achieve this they won 16 individual golds, 13 silvers and 9 bronze medals, 3 relay golds and numerous other placings.
Leading the way was Kyla Steenhart (30-34) winning 5 golds (200 free, 100 IM, 50 fly, 50 free and 50 breast (county record). Kyla also took silver in the 50 back and as well as swimming all 6 individuals swam 4 relays. Matt Chappel (30-34) won the 50 breast also in a county record and helped two of our relays to 1st places.
Other gold medallists were Susan Halter (80-84) 3 golds 50 bk, 50 free and 200 free. Elizabeth Braimbridge (75-79) 3 golds 50 breast 50 bk and 50 free. Oscar Rincon (30-34) won 2 golds for 50 fly and 100 IM, and 2 silvers for 50 breast just behind Matt and 50 free just behind Steve Mogg (30-34) who won Gold and a silver on 50 bk.
Aaron Boersma (30-34) just back from Perth took Gold in the 200 free and bronze in the 50 free and also helped two relay teams to gold.
Other silver winners were Lucy Mullan (25-29) 200 free, Donna Williamson 50 breast and 50 fly, Michelle Williams (25-29) 50 breast and Stuart Mathews (40-44) for 50 fly, 100IM and 50 free.
Ben Jesse (30-34) and Julio Martinez (35-39) both took silver each: Ben in the 50 fly and Julio in the 100 IM. Ben also added bronze in the 200 free and 100 IM and Julio added bronze in the 50 fly.
Other bronze medallists were Adrian Morton (50-54) on 200 free, Angela De Pinot Moila (25-29) in her 1st meet in 50 breast, Sue Green (50-54) in the 50 breast and 50 fly and Nicola Carnito (30-34) in the 50 back. Sue Green together with Kyla swam all 6 individuals and 4 relays.
This was a team event and many other swimmers while just out of the medals earned the club valuable points, those being Adam Freer, Jason Lewis, Baron Pachernari, Russell Bentley, Doug Oliphant, Graziella Doardo and David Josephs.
