Bogac Ayhan achieves more National times!

CSCSC participated in Sheffield at the Derventio Excel Long Course Open Meet this past weekend.

Bogac Ayhan, 14, achieved national qualifying times in four events. His 200m Fly in 2:13.91 earned him gold, a club record, a national time, and to date ranks him as the top 14 year old in the country in this event.

His other national qualifying times were in 200m Backstroke in 2:18.83 taking bronze, 100m Backstroke in 1:03.90 taking gold and 200m Free in 2:06.42. Bogac also took gold in 100m Fly in 1:00.07 with fellow 14 year old team mates Ensger Kotterink placing 2nd in 1:00.68 and Felix Samuels 3rd in 1:01.23.

Bogac completed his medal haul with a bronze in 50m Back in 31.53. Ensger also swam to take two golds in 200m and 400m Free, 2 silvers in 200m IM and 100m Free and a bronze in 200m Fly. Felix also took two golds in 50m Free (25.54) and 100m Free; silver in 200m Free and bronze in 200m IM. Throughout the meet Bogac, Ensger and Felix battled each other for gold.

Naiomi Wakeham-Aredes, 15, also swam strong. She achieved personal bests in her events with her biggest PB in the 200m Free swimming in 2:13.81 beating both her previous long course time by over 2 seconds and her short course time of 2:14.29. Naiomi also took bronze in 200m IM in 2:32.52.

A further achievement was obtained by Harry Needs, 16, with a new national qualifying time in 400m IM in 4:50.95.

Other star performances were achieved by Alex Peake, 12, with gold in 50m Breast in 36.83 and Devon Robins, 14, taking gold in 200m IM in 2:27.05. Tamsin McKinnon, Sarah Taylor Reid, Reut Benaim and Ed Walsh all placed in the meet.

Camden Swiss Cottage came in 3rd in total points in Top Club Category and won the Best Supported Club award, a true achievement to the team and its supporters.
