This weekend the London Borough of Enfield Swimming Association held the Enfield Open Meet at Southbury Road where...
Camden Swiss Cottage Swim Team swam strong winning medals in all age groups and breaking numerous Personal Bests (PBs).
A highlight of the meet was the Skins competition which was dominated by the Camden Swiss swimmers. All four events were won by CSCSC; Junior Girls winner: Isa Ouwehand; Senior Girls: Naoimi Wakeham-Aredes. Alex Peake won the Junior Boys and Alex Mackay won the Senior Boys category.
Eleven year old Bill Bradley was a highlight for the team taking 6 golds in 6 events. Achieving PBs in 200m Free with 2:27.74, 400m Free in 5:17.13, 100m Fly 1:20.58 and 50m Breast in 42.87. He also took first in 200 IM and 200 Fly. Alex Burgess also swam to place in 7 events, taking first in the 200m Fly in 2:43.87 and 200m Back in 2:28.91 and 400m Free, he placed second 100m Fly, 100m Back and 200m IM with a 26.05 second PB in 2:38.12in the 12/13 age group. Edward Graham medalled in 11 events taking gold in 200 IM in 2:25.65 and 50m Breast in 36.16. Alex Peake not only won the skins but also placed in 4 events: gold in 100m Breast, silver in 50m Back and bronze for 200m IM and 100m Fly.
Other medal winners included Xerxes Panthakee(11) 1st 200m Breast in 3:22.45 and two 3rd in 100m Breast and 100m Back: Eugene Potter (12) placed 2nd in both the 400m Free and 200m Fly with a PB of 3:05.83 and 3rd in 200m Back; Aron Barta (13) took 3 golds in 200m Free, 50m Breast and 50m Free and a silver in 100m Free in 1:02.01(PB); Vincent Neves silver in 200m Free with a 6.79PB in 2:26.25; Scott Broadis (13) bronze in 50m Breast; Bogac Ayhan won 2 golds in 200m Fly and 50m Back and silver in 200m Free; Joel Sands (15) won 200m Back in 2:24.85 and placed second in the 200m IM and 400m Free; Liam Coyle (15) won a gold, silver and bronze in 50m Fly (29.13), 100m Fly and 200m Fly (11.16 PB in 2:27.66); Lucas Perry-Hill (15) took two golds in 100m and 200m Breast and a silver in 100m Back; Jack Martin (14) won gold in 100m Back and bronze in 200m Back; James Burgess (16) won gold in 400m Free and two silvers in 200m Free and 200m Fly and a bronze for 100m Fly; Andy Hardt (16) won 8 medals with a gold in 200m Breast 2:44.83 (PB), silver in 200m IM, 200m Back and 100m Back, his 4th silver was in 400m Free with a 19.37 PB in 4:33.65, his bronzes were in 200m Fly, 200m Free and 50m Breast; Metin Ayhan (17) won gold in 200m Free and silver in 100m Fly with a PB of 1:03.19; Alex Mackay won 2 golds in 200m IM and 200m Back in 2:09.33 a4 second PB and Josh Tomas-Merrills (17) produced 4 PBs and 4 medals: 1st 100m Back, 2nd 50m Free and bronze in 100m Free and 50m Fly.
The girls also excelled at the weekend’s event with outstanding performances from Isa Ouwehand. She not only won the Skins event but also took first in the 12/13 200 IM age group with a PB of 2:46.63 and won two silvers for 100m Fly in 1:14.36 and 50m Fly in 33.78. Reut Benaim followed her Speedo success with 6 golds and 1 bronze at Enfield taking first in all three Fly events with times of 2:33.95 in 200m, 1:09.08 in 100m and 32.44 in 50m as well as winning the 50m, 100m and 200m Free. In the 14/15 year age category Jessica Hobbs won 7 medals with gold in the 200m Back in 2:28.38, 200m Free and 100m Back, silver in 100m Breast, 200m IM and 400m Free and bronze in 50m Back. Also in the 14/15 group Naiomi Wakeham-Aredes won 5 golds and 3 silvers and a bronze. Highlights being her 100m Breast in 1:19.86 and 200m Breast in 2:49.95.
Other medal winners were Cordelia Grossman (11) with a gold in 50m Breast 44.39, 3 silvers and a bronze in 100m Free in 1:12.39, she also had a 19 second PB in 400m Free in 5:23.93; Clara Ahmed (12) won two golds in 100m in 1:24.47 and 200m Breast in 3:03.83 and silver in 200m IM all 3 being PBs; Paloma Friedrich (12) placed 3rd 3 times in 100m Breast, 200m Breast and 50m Free all PBs; Sarah Taylor-Reid (12) placed 3rd in 400m Free in 5:05.09 and in 200m Back in 2:45.81; Alba Norris (13) won 50m Breast in 40.08; Lisa Imas (15) took bronze in both the 100m and 200m Fly; Camilla Grossman (15) had three PBs taking 1st 40m Back in 33.66, 2nd in 100m Back in 1:11.12 and 3rd in 200m Back in 2:32.30; Kat Spooner (14) took 3 golds in 400m Free with a PB of 4:38.40, 50m Free and 100m Free and silver in 200m Breast and bronze in 50m Fly; Katie Lelinski (15) placed 2nd in 50m Free and Sarrounia Samuels (18) took gold in 100m Free in 1:02.45.
