Laura Hobbs swimming in the BUSA (British University Sports Association) Long course swimming championships at Sheffield came 6th in the final hitting her national qualifying time right on the nose.
In the morning heat Laura swam 32.16 missing the time by one one hundredth of a second but in a tight final that see Internationals Mel Marshall and Karen Lee in the race. Laura managed to find that one hundredth of a second to hit the qualifying time spot on.
Laura who has swam and raced for the club for over 12 years which includes all three rounds of the Speedo league competition in the last ten years has now been studying geography at Bristol university for the last two years.
Laura also took 6th place in the 100m backstroke final with a 1.10.37
Laura who now concentrates more on the sprint events put her success down to her gym and weights programme and a swim suit that took over 20 minutes to get on.
Now that’s what I call tight!
