Fantastic Results at Middlesex Meet
12 boys and 7 girls were awarded speeding tickets for achieving County Standard times at the Middlesex Development meet at Southbury Road.
LUCAS AND EUGENE OUTSTANDING
Lucas Perry-Hill and Eugene Potter led the way with 4 speeding tickets (STs) each. Lucas achieved these in 400m IM, 200m back, 200m and 400m free. He won two gold medals in 100m fly and back.
Eugene's 4 speeding tickets came in 400m IM, 100m, 400m and 1500m free and he added gold in 200m fly.
Sarah Taylor- Reid had a very successful week end with 3 STs in 400m and 1500m free and 200m IM.
ED AND JOEL DIVE UNDER 18 MINS
Edward Graham beat Harry Needs’ club record for 12/13 1500m free with 17.49.85 and Joel Sands was on his toes with 17.50.11.
The team did particularly well in distance events with Liam Coyle, Jesse Matthews and Leo Jaggs all achieving double STs for 400m and 800m free.
Ilya Skiarov, Tamsin McKinnon Clara Ahmed and Robin Neumann were all awarded tickets for 400m free - Robin (9) swimming an excellent time of 5.44.28. She was speeding again in 200m fly with 3.25.60. Clara (11) set a classy PB of 20.46.33 in 1500m free.
SPEEDING TICKETS GALORE
Well done to the following speedsters: Alex Peake (100m breaststroke, 200m IM); Vergil Wong (100m free); Santiago Parilli (200m back); Rachael Morton (100m free); Aron Barta (200m free); Bronwyn Matthews (50m free) and Camilla Grossman (400m IM).
Medals were awarded to the best swimmers who did not exceed the qualifying standards and the club took a fantastic total of 40 golds, many by those mentioned above.
GREAT GOLDS
Others to win gold were Billy Bradley, James Burgess, Saffron Coyle, Hayley Glasford, Sophie Rittenhouse, Leanne Yates, Caroline Taylor and Cordelia Grossman.
Saffron competed in 11 events including 4 200m swims, 400m IM and 400m/1500m free. Sophie Rittenhouse is showing potential with her times on backstroke and freestyle and Paloma Friedrich set 8 new bests, including notable improvements on freestyle and breaststroke.
Well done to Charlie Hennessy, who set 8 new bests including 4 200m events. Will Rawlinson brought down 4 of his PBs and Olivia Willis did very well on breaststroke, freestyle and IM.
