Five Camden swimmers represented Middlesex in the National County Championships in Sheffield.
Ed Walsh, Harry Needs, Bogac Ayhan, Reut Benaim and Felix Samuels helped Middlesex towards a 7th place finish at Ponds Forge. Also from Camden Swiss Cottage, Dave Hobbs was Head Coach, Vicky Spencer was Team Manager and Nuala Muir-Cochrane was traveling with the team as County President.
The five swimmers all did well, with Harry Needs giving the county their highest finish place with 2nd on the 100m fly in a short course PB of 59.00. Harry then went on to finish 6th with another short course PB and a new club record of 1.01.05 on 100m Backstroke. Harry teamed up with Felix Samuels (free split of 24.96), Charlie Boldison (Barnet) and Tariq Miller (Ealing) to earn the county's highest relay finish with 2nd place.
Bogac smashed his best time on 100m fly by over 2 seconds with a 1.04.33 to give him a very creditable 5th place finish. Bogac also swam a fast 28.77 50m fly split in the 4 x 50 12/13 age group relay to earn 8th place.
Ed Walsh was boys team captain and took 5th in 100m free in 52.61 and 7th in 100m breaststroke in 1.06.76. Reut, in her first appearance for the county, took a respectable 12th place with a 1.09.67.
