The county long course meet scheduled for the 22nd/23rd May has been canceled.
Unfortunately the county has been forced to cancel the planned long course meet at the new Hillingdon 50m pool.
Astonishingly this is because the London Borough of Hillingdon council will not allow the pool to be closed for more than half day.
Director of swimming Dave Hobbs finds this unbelievable as the council received over 2 million of sport England funds to build the pool. It begs the question why would you build a 50m pool if you are not going to use it for competition? It makes you wonder how this fits in with the Olympic legacy?
