A large contingent of Camden Swiss Cottage swimmers competed at the second weekend of the British Gas Middlesex BAGAT and Youth Championships at Southbury Road in Enfield.
Medals were in abundance, 31 in total of which 12 were golds and personal bests were being smashed all round by the 70 swimmers who competed.
Alexander Burgess (14) was outstanding collecting three golds in the 400m freestyle (4.16.60s). 200m individual medley (2.18.39s) and backstroke (2.14.93s).
Scott Broadis (15) lead the way in breaststroke taking gold in the 100m (1.12.06s) and 200m (2.34.52s). A good reward for his commitment to regular training, last year Scott never made a final this year double gold proving that hard work and dedication pays off. Scott also picked up a bronze in the 400m individual medley (5.08.08s).
Not to be outdone by the boys Emily House (10) was once again in gold winning form in the 200m individual medley (2.47.45s) and the 400m freestyle (5.04.41s). She took a silver in the 100m backstroke (1.19.26s)

Dave Hobbs, Head Coach commenting on the weekends results said “There were some pleasing performances and this is part of the build up for the British Championships for some of our athletes as well as being the first step on the ladder for some of our youngest swimmers.”
Good luck for the final weekend of competition.
