58 Camden Swiss Cottage Swimmers took part in the Barnet 100s, hosted by Barnet Copthall Swimming Club.
Building on the clubs recent successes in the Middlesex Winter Development meet the clubs younger swimmers were in dazzling form! Breaking 5 meet records and collecting 33 medals, 13 of which were gold; plus lots of personal bests (PB’s).
Amongst the many impressive performances was Emily House (10) who smashed 3 meet records and took gold in all five of her events. Emily’s notable haul comprised of 100m backstroke (1.18.60s), freestyle (1.07.67s), butterfly (1.17.82s), breaststroke (1.35.34s) and individual medley (1.20.63s). Swiss Cottage Development coach Gill Muir “Emily’s performance was terrific, I’m sure there is lots more to come from this talented young athlete this season.“
Jesse Matthews (13), put in some terrific swims medalling in all of his 5 events (three golds and two silvers) and setting a meet record in the 100m individual medley (1.11.00s). Jesse’s other golds came in the 100m fly where he took 1.41s off his previous time to win in 1.07.45s and in the 100m backstroke slicing off 1.99s to win in 1.10.73s. Tamir Gonen-Cohen (12) broke the third record when she won the 100m butterfly in 1.13.04s.
Olivia Willis (12), Billy Bradley (13) and Hok Iao Wong (11) also had impressive medal hauls all taking 3 medals. .
Tamir Gonen-cohen is swimming in the Israeli National this week and has just broken her own long Course PB for 100m Fly, going 1.10.31 and winning Gold....
