Camden's victory places us top of the league after round two
Camden Swiss Cottage swimmers were made to work hard for their victory in the second round of the National Arena Swimming league at the weekend as the University of East Anglia City of Norwich team chased them hard all the way. Early on in the event only a few points separated the teams. The Camden team worked hard and soon opened up a gap to win by 30points that was pleasing to the coaching staff of Camden.
Director of swimming Dave Hobbs went on to say ‘considering Norwich are a city team attached to a university we were pleased that out of the 50 events in the programme Camden came away with 29 wins and 16 second places to give us a total points score of 371’. We were delighted after being put under pressure early on the swimmers responded well, it is always great to see the level of commitment and just how tough we can be.We now sit top of the league for the first time in our history. It will be a battle to beat teams like Ipswich and Hatfield in the final but we will fight hard for every point.'
